MUSCLE BALANCE / BIOMECHANICAL ASSESSMENT
A muscle balance assessment is a detailed assessment of your body to determine which specific areas of your body are working well and which aren’t. The muscle balance assessment is a Sport and recreation specific assessment with focuses on flexibility, joint range of motion, muscle strength and the coordination of movement/movement patterns. Muscle balance/biomechanical assessment also can be used for work related disorders which are causing pain and decreased work performance.
One of the common issues we encounter with our patients is a overworked muscle become tight and powerful, while the opposite muscle group becomes weak and lengthened. Both these situations can lead to pain and additional compensation somewhere else in the body, which can cause more issues.
The muscle balance assessment will take approximately 90 minutes and at the end of the assessment your Physiotherapist will give you a specific rehabilitation programme, designed to improve your performance and to limit repetitive injuries that might continue to be an issue.
