PILATES CLASSES

PILATES CLASSES

Pilates has become very popular in Taranaki. New Plymouth wide, people of all ages have embraced the proven benefits of Pilates.
Physio@Carefirst is a leader in providing Pilates classes tailored to help you.

If you are experiencing chronic pain, arthritis, general tightness or recovering from injury – then join New Plymouths leading Pilates practitioner.

Our Pilates classes operate from our Westown branch (New Plymouth) and we welcome individuals from all locations across Taranaki.

Pilates has a 50+ year history, originally based off dance training principles. Pilates has developed and progressed through the years and to result in the exercise classes we know today.

Pilates is a series of guided, low-impact exercises usually performed on a mat and sometimes with resistance equipment. Pilates can help you manage and recover from injuries with physio-based exercises that can be customised for any ability or experience.

The benefits of Pilates can include mindful breathing, flexibility, coordination, strengthening, core control and stability and improvement in movement patterns. The exercises can be modified to accommodate injuries or movement limitations. Manual guidance and visualisation can help to gain maximum benefit from the exercises.

Pilates may suit you if you have had a recent injury, chronic pain, arthritis or general tightness. There is no limit to age or ability and you don’t need to have an injury to benefit from Pilates.

Physio@Carefirst provides small group mat Pilates classes led by Ash, a qualified physiotherapy with expertise in Clinical and Mat Pilates. Before your first class we recommend a 1 on 1 Pilates assessment with Ash to ensure you get the most benefit you can from the classes.
